Amazon.com Review There's nothing worse than putting on a swimsuit and seeing stray hairs peeking out around your bikini line, but razor burn, painful waxing, and harsh chemicals are almost as bad as stray hair. Panasonic's bikini shaper and trimmer lets you keep those hairs as they should be--private--without using any of the above alternatives. These clippers are basically just a narrow (the blade is just 1 inch wide) version of standard clippers, but they offer a few special extras, such as the five-position trimming and shaping guide. The guide lets you choose exactly the length of hair you want to keep, ranging from 5/8 to 1/8 inch long. We especially appreciated the guide's rounded tips, which make it easy to avoid gouging yourself as you're trimming. For shaping, the guard comes completely off for super-close clipping. The surgical steel blades are hypoallergenic and are sure to last for several seasons. The unit operates on two AA batteries (not included), and includes a one-year warranty. --Ariel Meadow Stallings

This isn't the first I purchased! August 8, 2008 A. DIAZ (Panama City, FL) This is by far the best trimmer I (as well as my husband) have ever used. We have used so many different brands, types and this one is still the best. I purchased this one as a backup, just in case like everything else (once you begin liking something they stop selling it) it suddendly isn't being sold anymore. I want to make sure we have it around for a long time. The first one that we purchased, was bought over five years ago and it's still working perfectly!!! This backup will be tucked away just in case! I love this thing, my husband loves this thing. The trimmer worth purchasing!!!
Not as good as I expected.... July 25, 2008 A. Bogner (USA) I purchased this product based on the good reviews and I was rather disappointed. It did get the job done, sort of. Pros: The size is good and is easy to maneuver. Being battery-operated was nice, I didn't have to worry about the cord getting in the way. Cons: The plastic guard on it is very odd, it slides up and down for different lengths and it doesn't "pick up" the hairs to be trimmed. So most of the hair is still laying flat and doesn't get cut. It took MANY passes over the same areas and pulling the skin very taut, sometimes holding hairs straight up to get them to go through the guard, to get a half-way decent trim. It was still very uneven though. Overall, this would be ok for touching up, but I won't be using it when I need to get the full "haircut". If the guards were the normal ones that snap on and off like hair clippers, this would be perfect. (Also, do NOT use this without the guard, it will pull hairs and nick skin. Which, in my personal opinion, takes away from being a bikini trimmer. It should trim and shave.)
Easy, safe and effective! July 12, 2008 Div (CA) Love this product! The fact that it trims evenly makes you look a lot neater. It's very very safe, so you can use close to the very private areas.
Best trimmer of it's kind July 5, 2008 Rob (Eatontown, NJ United States) I've had various cordless trimmers, all of them were rechargeable, and all of them lost power within a year or two and the cost of replacing the battery was almost as much as the trimmer. This trimmer takes 2 standard AA batteries. I use Sanyo Eneloop rechargables which are excellent. This trimmer is very powerful for it's small size. It fits the hand well. Many cordless trimmers I had in the past were overly bulky. It's a "bikini" trimmer, and it works great for my girlfriend, but I use it too, and we both love it. I've trimmed my beard, my hair, and all parts and it's great. The adjustable length mechanism works very well and is removable, as are the blades which can be removed and thoroughly cleaned (and replaced if necessary). This product is very well designed, and at an excellent price. I highly recommend it. P.S. - The item doesn't come with batteries. As I said earlier, I highly recommend Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable batteries. They're NiMH batteries but with a new design so they keep their charge ("normal" NiMH rechargeable batteries rapidly lose their charge entirely after only a month even when they're not being used at all). Sanyo claims an unused Eneloop battery will still have up to 85% of it's charge after 1 year, and my experience with them seems to confirm that.
Great little trimmer, compact and efficient, great for travel too. May 13, 2008 Anjana Nigam (Atlanta, GA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After 3 years of use this trimmer is still going strong and I am very happy with it. Its compactness makes it easy to maneuver in tight spots. The adjustable comb like attachment on top lets you choose between 4 different hair lengths. You may have to do more than one pass to get an even trim, but no more than any other trimmer of this type. The top comes off for easy cleaning. Overall a great product that does the job well.
